 The Mangalarga Marchador, also known as Mangalarga Mineiro, is a Brazilian horse breed. He is a descendant of the Alter-Real horses (a strain of the Lusitano horse), which arrived in Brazil at the beginning of the 19th century through the Portuguese Court, and which were later crossed with common walking horses trained by farmers in the southern region of Minas Gerais.
